The National Society of Professional Engineers initiated Engineers Week in 1951. In its developing stages, it was mostly a local and disconnected program focused only within the profession; however, after more than 60 years of growth and establishment, it has become one of the most influential and outstanding events to raise public awareness of engineers in all aspects of their societal importance.
