The New York State Office of the Professions has released information regarding the new registration and eligibility procedures for the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Computer Based Examinations to begin in 2014.
Students/Graduates/Applicants who wish to register for the exam must fall under one of the following categories:
1. Students/Applicants of an EAC/ABET Engineering Program OR Graduates of an ETAC/ABET Engineering Technology Program
- Students/Applicants within 20 credits of graduation in an EAC/ABET Engineering Program or Graduates of an EAC/ABET accredited baccalaureate Engineering Program are automatically eligible to sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
(To verify your program is ABET accredited, visit the ABET website.)
- Registration can be completed online through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) website.
- Registration is open as of November 1, 2013.
2. Students/Applicants of a Foreign & Non-ABET Education Programs
- Students/Applicants not currently enrolled or have not graduated from an EAC or ETAC/ABET accredited baccalaureate program must submit an application to the New York State Board for Engineering and Land Surveying to obtain eligibility.
- If your application is approved, registration for the exam can be completed online through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) website.
- Registration is open as of November 1, 2013.
Once these requirements are met registration is done through the NCEES website. To begin the registration process you must first create a “MyNCEES” Account by clicking on the “Create an Account” button found on this webpage. Once an account is created, the system allows you to add degree(s) earned to your account. After adding degree(s) earned, it allows you to select which exam you would like to register for as seen below:
Next, you must select the Licensing Board, and Examination Type:
To complete your registration, proceed to the checkout and enter payment information. Once completed an e-mail confirming your purchase will be sent.
