On Saturday, March 28, 2015, the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) coordinated the New York State MATHCOUNTS Competition at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. The group of NYSSPE volunteers was once again led by Laura Pellizzi, PE, NYSSPE’s Long Island Regional Vice President.
MATHCOUNTS is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program. Volunteers from the Suffolk Chapter NYSSPE facilitated a series of fun and challenging rounds, including an individual section, speedier target rounds, and a collaborative team round, which were held in the morning session. After a lunch break provided by RPI, it was time for the Countdown Round, which showcased the top 12 individual performers in a head-to-head single-elimination tournament.
The top four individual performers from the competition will represent New York State at the 2015 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS National Competition, which will be held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel this year from May 7-10.
The four outstanding individuals from this year’s New York State 2015 MATHCOUNTS competition were:
Raymond Feng / Calkins Road Middle School
Alan Tu / Calkins Road Middle School
Eric Wei / Scarsdale Middle School
Derrick Xiong / Horace Mann Middle School
The top three scoring teams were:
Calkins Road Middle School
Horace Mann Middle School
Scarsdale Middle School
The top 12 individual and team performers and scores are below

Where can we find the details of 2015 NY state mathcounts results?
There are only the top 12 individual and team performers and scores.
Thank you

Each schools results were emailed to the team’s/individual’s coach. If you would like to know your personal results, please ask you coach if they received that email. If they haven’t, they can email me at the email address [email protected] and I can send them another copy.
We don’t post the entire events results. Only the top 12 teams and individuals.
Regards,
Laura/NYS Mathcounts Coordinator

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to work in the scoring room at the State Competition. Without your diligent work, we would not be able to host such a wonderful event for the students.
And a special thank you to Susan DeSimone, Paul Adel and Sal and Kathy Ervolina for their work, year after year, making it all happen in the scoring room.
Thank you all again.
Best regards,
Laura/NYS Mathcounts Coordinator
