The New York State Society of Professional Engineers held their annual conference in Suffern, NY, June 10th and 11th. The conference included a variety of learning sessions cover trending topics such as Ethics, Safety, Planning for Transportation Assets, COVID-19 Impacts and Rock Stabilization.
NYSSPE had the pleasure of welcoming Rick Guerra, PE; NSPE President who attended the conference and Board Meetings. Rick also presented the lunch seminar: Professional Ethics – Right or Wrong – 1 PDH. This presentation focused on a brief review of the NSPE Code of Ethics and an introduction to the NSPE Board of Ethical Review as a valuable ethics resource. Together attendees explored and analyzed several case studies that will help them strengthen their own professional ethics by discussing common dilemmas facing engineers in today’s work environment.
On Friday evening NYSSPE hosted the Annual Awards and Installation Dinner, The awards dinner highlighted NYSSPE award winners that have impacted the industry through a multitude of disciplines recognizing the following:
