The Practicing Institute of Engineering (PIE)
PIE facilitates engineers’ ability to meet these educational requirements by evaluating and approving courses for professional development hours (PDH) credit and by facilitating the same for the sponsoring organizations affiliated with it.
Foundation for Engineering Education Inc. (FEE)
FEE makes programs that further and celebrate Engineering Education for all ages to encourage and preserve the profession of engineering as a career.
MATHCOUNTS
The MATHCOUNTS Competition is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging “bee” style contests.
Engineer’s Week
National Engineers Week is promoted by NYSSPE and its Chapters to celebrate the importance of Engineering Profession by showcasing the many exciting contributions engineers have made to our society.
Future Cities
The Future City Competition is a national, project-based learning experience where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade imagine, design, and build cities of the future.
Joel A. Miele Engineering Education Scholarship Fund
In honor of and memory of Joel A. Miele, Sr., this engineering education scholarship fund enables and facilitates engineering educational activities, including the provision of scholarship aid and engineering textbooks, assistance with the FE and PE exam application and process, etc.
STEM – Science Technology Engineering Mathematics
The New York State STEM Education Collaborative is working to define and promote the science, technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) disciplines in New York State and serve as a national model.
QBS – Qualifications Based Selection
QBS is a process for the selection of design professionals. It is a negotiated procurement process for selection based on qualifications and competence in relation to the work to be performed.
