The New York State Society of Professional Engineers wishes to CONGRATULATE this year’s NEW YORK STATE MATHCOUNTS TEAM, pictured above, on their outstanding performance finishing in 19th place at the NATIONAL MATHCOUNTS COMPETITION in Orlando FL on May 15, 2017.
On Saturday, March 18, 2018, the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) coordinated the New York State MATHCOUNTS Competition at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. The group of NYSSPE volunteers was once again led by Laura Pellizzi, PE, NYSSPE’s President.
The MATHCOUNTS Competition is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging “bee” style contests. The program exists in all 50 states plus U.S. territories, the Department of Defense and State Department schools and is supported by the National Society of Professional Engineers at the state and local levels. Public, private, religious and home schools alike are eligible to participate as long as students are in the sixth, seventh and/or eighth grade.
